The healthcare sector deserves an adviser who will still be here next year. PowerQ coordinates the energy portfolios of hospitals, mental health organisations, long-term care providers and primary care providers. From procurement and invoice verification to risk management and verifiable energy data. Our longest-running healthcare contract has been in place since 2007.
Strategy and contract negotiation form the starting point of every mandate. Thereafter, the work consists of four recurring processes. PowerQ provides the energy component, but not the full sustainability or CSRD reporting, nor the auditor’s report.
Execution of the mandate within the agreed risk limits.
We carry out tenders and trading opportunities within the mandate set by the board of directors. Everything is documentable and traceable; we do not trade on our own account and do not maintain a trading book.
Every invoice, line by line [in so far as this is contractually agreed and set up via data integration].
In many healthcare organisations, the finance department does not check energy bills in full; there simply isn’t time for that. We check each location’s bills against the contract and measured consumption, including grid charges and energy taxes – areas where errors occur more frequently than most organisations realise. The corrections add up over the course of a year.
Verifiable energy data to support the audit.
Scope 2 calculated using the market-based and location-based methods, guarantees of origin (GoOs) by entity and on a consolidated basis, with source data and methodology that your external auditor can use during their audit.
Procurement behind the administrative pledges.
A board that commits to reduction targets needs a procurement strategy that delivers on them. PowerQ translates the Green Deal for Sustainable Care into contracts, hedges and decisions regarding guarantees of origin.
Across our healthcare portfolio, we have achieved a cumulative reduction of [x]% in Scope 2 emissions (market-based) over [period]. Part of this reduction stems from the allocation of guarantees of origin, and part from coordinated procurement and targeted hedges. We publish the methodology in full and report the results of the measurement, even when the outcome deviates from the target.
Clients decide for themselves whether and when we publish their names. The information below therefore sets out the structure, not the names: type of organisation, region, number of locations, year of the contract and scope.
45 minutes, with no presentation and no proposal. Together, we’ll look at the portfolio you already have: invoices, contracts, location overview. You’ll find out how coordinated procurement under a single mandate would affect your rates, risk profile and the basis for your Scope 2 reporting. If our model isn’t a good fit for your organisation, we’ll let you know.
