Independent by design

We work for the interests of your organisation in the long run, not for a quick deal. That is why we only work for clients we can really help. And we choose suppliers that fit them: on price, terms and security of supply, but also on how they behave when the market turns.

One rule applies to everything on this page

For every service, we agree with you in advance how PowerQ is paid. That agreement does not change, whichever supplier we recommend.

How PowerQ earns differs per service and per market. We put it in writing before you sign. What does not change: our income does not steer our advice.

How we earn

Four ways of working, four ways of being paid

Not every client needs the same thing from us, so not every client pays us the same way. Below is what applies to each service. Your agreement states which of these apply to you.

01

Collective procurement

Hospitals and other organisations buy together in a PowerQ collective. We bundle their volume, run the tender, negotiate one contract and set the procurement strategy for the whole group, for the full contract period. The winning supplier pays PowerQ a fee. That fee is the same for every supplier in the tender and is fixed in advance, so it cannot influence who wins. In addition, each participant pays a fixed monthly contribution directly to PowerQ, for PowerQ Connect and our support.

02

Individual procurement

For organisations with their own procurement strategy, often across several sites or countries. We design that strategy with you, run the tender in your name, execute clicks (partial purchases) and hedges within your mandate and stay involved for the full contract period. You choose how you pay us: directly, through a fixed advisory fee or a platform subscription, or, where the market allows it, through a supplier fee that is the same for every bidder in the tender.

03

PowerQ Connect

Every client, in every market, works on the same platform, where procurement, invoices, your mandate and sustainability data come together. So your energy, finance and sustainability teams work with the same figures: consumption, contracts, risks, invoice control and CO2 data for every site. You pay for this through a subscription invoiced directly to your organisation.

04

Energy management, risk and sustainability services

Connect gives you the data. Do you want PowerQ to also do the daily work, from invoice control to guarantees of origin and the energy part of your sustainability report? Then we do that as an extension of your own team, with a fixed contact person and clear agreements on what we deliver. You pay a fee per service that we agree in advance and invoice directly. Always separate from the purchasing, and never through a supplier fee.

Energy markets do not all work the same way.

In some countries a supplier fee is the standard model; in others the client pays the adviser directly. Where you operate in more than one market, your agreement sets out the model per country, with one line of accountability across all of them.

Where PowerQ works with a PowerQ partner, that partner follows the same rules as set out on this page.

“We chose this model more than twenty years ago because a hospital board should never have to wonder whose side its adviser is on. Nothing about Europe changes that.”
